About the Wheel of Names
A spinning wheel is a fun and fair way to pick a random entry from a list. Useful in classrooms for cold-calling students, in team meetings to pick the next presenter, in giveaways to draw a winner, or in family decisions when nobody can agree where to eat.
Each spin uses a uniformly random angle, so every name has an equal chance of winning regardless of where it sits on the wheel. Toggle "Remove winner after spin" to use it as a draw without replacement — useful for picking presentation order or splitting a list.
Frequently asked questions
Is the spin actually random?
Yes — the wheel uses your browser's built-in random number generator to pick a uniform angle within a full rotation. The visible spin is decorative; the winner is determined by the random angle.
How many names can I add?
As many as you like, but slices get thin past about 30 names — the wheel is most readable with 4–20 names. Long names are truncated.
